I’m Pacey Smith-Garcia, an award-winning journalist and documentarian. I graduated in 2024 from Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism with a degree in journalism and a minor in film. I've worked as a production assistant for ICT News, formerly known as Indian Country Today, as well as an Indigenous affairs reporter and documentary producer at the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism. In 2024, I began an 11-month fellowship in Germany through the U.S. Department of State’s Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange program, where I focused on journalism and public media.  Along with the CBYX program, I worked at the European Relations Network, writing articles on European issues. My work is driven by a passion for storytelling, cultural exchange, and amplifying diverse voices.

Watch my Emmy-nominated documentary, "The Forgotten Children of Mother Magma", here! It tells the story of the closure of the San Manuel Copper Mine in southern Arizona.
